Cricket v Football

Bank Holiday - Monday 25th August

On the August Bank Holiday the Cricket & Football teams met in a match to settle who was the best all round team.

Firstly a football match took place. The Cricketers had taken the lead by half time and the footballers clearly had'nt been doing much practice in the closed season. But after a spate of goals in the second half the game was a 6-6 draw at full time. A penalty shoot-out saw the footballers steal the win.

A crowd gathered on the green and enjoyed quality BBQ'd food & drink. The children kept themselves ammused on the bouncy castle and enjoyed sweets and ice creams.

In the afternoon the cricket started with the footballers batting first. They made an impressive 125 runs, but were caught out 6 times. The sun was also out.

The cricketers faired a lot better with 187 runs and only gave away 2 catches. An elaborate scoring system to iron out the differences between the teams saw the cricket team take the shield.

Thankyou to everyone that took part and attended. We very much look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
